The Stock 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS puts out 455-hp, a very respectable figure from a muscle car and certainly within the spectrum of the expected. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has receieved a major upgrade earlier this year making it sharper, better and putting it on par with the new 2016 Ford Mustang.
The team at Hennessey Performance (HPE) just doesn’t like anything below 500 hp so they upped the stakes with the 2016 Hennessey Chevrolet Camaro SS giving it the HPE600 package which adds a CNC ported camshaft, cylinder heads and valvetrain upgrades. They also gave it a high-flow catalytic converters, Kooks 1 7/8-inch long-tube stainless steel headers and a high flow intake manifold which adds up to 605 bhp at 6,500 rpm.
But to get to 202 mph, you need some rather hefty upgrades – Thus Hennessey opted for a Nitrous kit which adds another 150 hp, including 20-inch lightweight Hennessey H10 wheels wrapped in Continental ContiSportContact 5P tires and a GM performance suspension system right out of the GM parts bin. If you happen to want more power, you can opt for the 2016 Hennessey Chevrolet Camaro HPE750 that includes a TVS2300 supercharger making the Camaro shell out over 751 hp and 643 lb-ft of torque. Do you think the 2016 Hennessey Chevrolet Camaro SS is on par with the new GT350R?
