This is the VW Gol GT Concept developed with Volkswagen Brazil to strengthen the emotional relationship that customers share with the brand’s sportier models.
Basically, VW is testing out a smaller hatchback competitor to the Abarth 500 and they want to see if there is any appeal out there.
The concept can’t be mistaken for a standard VW model, you can immediately tell that the VW Gol GT is a sportier version thanks to the blacked-out bumper aero kit, the huge lava red lip-spoiler and side skirt lip.
In addition, the Gol GT receives similar treatment to a Golf Club-sport model with flared arches and integrated LEDS. I didn’t like the 18-inch Serron diamon wheels, something sharper would have looked better.
Volkswagen design executive ‘jose Carlos Pavone’ said that “the concept goes to the essence, at the beginning of the GT legend, with a current and modern language that translates all the sportiness of the Volkswagen brand,” he also mentioned that “the GT Concept captures the look of a child for a sporty model. It is a gift to the fans of the brand and this new generation of automobile enthusiasts.”
“There is a lot of logic and precision not only in style, but also in all surface treatment and project execution,” added Pavone.
On the inside, you get more Lava red inserts and stitching. A flat bottom steering wheel, a flat single center-piece air vent, aluminum door handles and pedals with GT logos.
Volkswagen made no comments regarding the engine powering the GT, what do you think should power this little hot hatch?
