The Pagani Huayra is the supercar that performs well and looks measurably beautiful doing so, Horacio Pagani wanted it to compete with the Bugatti Supersports after all. But what happens when you add more power, improve almost everthing and reduce more weight? This is the the new Pagani Huayra BC, a version named after the initials of the first person to buy a pagani “Benny Caiola”. The BC is actually so different from the standard Huayra that it only shares one thing: the roof, and not any other panel.
It wouldn’t be special if it didn’t have special things right? The Pagani Huayra BC has a newly developed Carbon Fiber material produced by Pagani that is 20 percent stronger and 50 percent lighter than the normal carbon fiber found in other cars, which puts this version at a mind boggling 1,218 kg’s only making it 132 kg lighter than the Huayra coupe. Add to that a brand new gearbox, a motorsport-derived carbo-titanium monocoque chassis and suspension. Horacio took the successful formula of the track based Zonda R and transformed it into a road legal version with the new Pagani Huayra BC.
The engine remains the same but with a bit more umph! The AMG-built twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 mashes 789 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque mated to the all new Xtrac supplied 7-speed AMT automated manual gearbox powering the rear wheels through a new Le Mans prototype-derived tripod axle drive shaft. This new gearbox is 40 percent lighter thanks to the carbon fiber electro hydraulic actuation system and synchronizes. This sped up the gearshifts making them twice as fast with an insane shift time of 75 ms instead of 150 milliseconds that’s faster than half an eye blink (let that sync in).
A new lighter suspension forged from aeronautic aluminum alloy is now 25% lighter, with a new acoustically tuned titanium quad exhaust that’s 2.9 kg (the older stock pipes were 7.9 kg) only it’s hard to cope with how fast the Pagani Huayra BC is going to be with all that weight gone, expect a 0-62 mph time of just 2.6 seconds. You will also get new sport, track and comfort modes that are accessed through a button on the wheel thanks to the Bosch ESP system
Brembo developed carbon ceramic now have a better more functional monolithic design that sees a six pot upfront and a four pot in the rear which are also lighter adding to the whole handling package and increasing braking and stability. The Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are inspired by Formula-1 by utilizing new polyers and mixing systems. The Pagani Huayra BC is also more aerodynamically efficient, Dallara teamed up with Pagani again to increase airspeed channeling through the inlets and new air ducts reducing drag and improving overall cooling.
On the inside, you get more matter carbon fiber, red leather, a wonderful suede wrapped steering wheel and black anthracite sued here and there. Only 20 units will be made of the Pagani Huayra BC and will cost you 2.35 million Euros to own one, good luck.
