Tesla has just hired Audi’s Peter Hochholdinger ( Former Volkswagen Group Executive) as their vice president of vehicle productions. Peter will be responsible for the new vehicle lineup that consists of the Model 3 sedan, the Model S sports sedan and the Model X SUV. Peter Hochholdinger has worked at Audi for the past 22 years – heading the production for the Q5 SUV, A4, A5 and four other models. He was basically running the production for 400,000 units and managed several thousand Audi Employees.
He will be in charge of production techniques and mainly increasing overall production of the current Model S sean and Model X SUV in addition to developing a new scalable and cost-effective production system for the new Model 3 sedan. This all comes in-line with Elon Musk’s recent statement of building 500,00 cars by the end of 2018 rather than by 2020.
