SpaceX Successfully Lands Rocket on Drone Ship

Above; you can clearly see an unmanned rocket being landed on a drone Ship. Never would I have thought this would happen but Elon Musk, the most exciting CEO I have ever seen in my life doesn’t have “never” in his book as you can clearly see. He goes ahead with the Tesla Model 3 launch and just days later does this insane landing.

The Dragon spacecraft was launched by SpaceX (A company which was also founded by Elon Musk) with the Falcon 9 rocket which in most cases would be discarded after the mission, but SpaceX had a long-standing goal of neatly landing the carrier Falcon Rocket 9 after it had done it’s job, and they successfully did so.

Above is a snippet from the full video available online.

Now, if you have been following SpaceX. You’d already know that they have been landing Falcon 9s on land but they have never successfully landed their Falcon 9 rockets on a small target somewhere in the ocean; like a drone ship for example which is seemingly impossible until now. They have previously attempted the landing but faced several issues where the Falcon 9 would miss slightly, exploded or tip over after landing.

If you’re asking yourself what this means or how it could be useful? Simply put, this will save millions of dollars by giving SpaceX the ability to reuse expensive rockets instead of discarding them, bring the same rocket for multiple missions and endless landing possibilities are now an option. I applaud you Mr. Elon Musk and everyone who works at SpaceX for this great achievement.
