Porsche has an Exclusive program that gives us some magical special editions every once in a while and this limited-edition 911 Targa 4S Exclusive design edition is no different. How limited? 100 cars will be sold worldwide according to a Porsche representative.
The first thing you notice about the 911 Targa 4S Exclusive Design Edition is the bright blue paint job dubbed “Etna Blue” – the same exact paint applied to the 1960-1961 Porsche 356B (pictured above) The engine the powers the 911 Targa 4S Exclusive Design Edition remains the same standard 420-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six. The engine remained the same because of Porsche’s Exclusive Design philosophy of staying true to the roots.
The 20-inch RS wheels, targa bar and side door graphics are painted in white gold metallic while the interior remains fairly standard with some exclusive edition badges. The seats are Exclusive Design Edition’s 18-way sport seats, while HVAC vents are wrapped in blue cowhide. Most notebaly is the 911-Tagra logo silhouette of the car embossed on the center-console armwrest. The dashboard lettering reads “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur,” and the sill plates have a nice blue 911 Targa 4S Exclusive Design Edition badge as well.
Would it be priced around $124,000 and then sold on the aftermarket with a hefty premium like 2016 Porsche 911 R which was fetching well over $1 million on Ebay? Who knows, we doubt it is anything as special as the manual only purist 911 R but Porsche’s tend to be collectors cars more than others and this one is just as good.
