After an earlier leak of the new Talisman, we have the official release with some photos to dabble you with for the world premier of the new 2016 Renault Talisman mid-size sedan.
New for 2016 would be the fact that the Talisman will come as a replacement for the Renault Latitude and the Laguna which will bring about a new CMF platform that is better in every way with the added benefit of a better interior and exterior design. Dimensions are subtle for a mid-size sedan seeing the 2016 Renault Talisman at 4.85 meters long, 1.46 meters tall and 1.87 meters wide with a 2.81 meter wheelbase.
The 2016 Renault Talisman will have a 608-liter trunk capacity with a 60:40 split rear bench seats and some oddly shapped LED headlights that I could not stomach, but that might take some getting used to. It seems the longer you look at them, the better they get. The front end design is quite impressive and comes together all too well, marking Renault in the right direction (design wise).
The car just looks sleek and sporty thanks to the long but not too tall profile that gives it that elegant yet sporty look, and with a rear end like that.. We don’t see how the 2016 Renault Talisman is going to be sitting in showrooms for too long. Passengers will also enjoy class-leading comfort in legroom that measures in at 262 mm in the rear and 855 mm in head room coupled with six memorized seating positions that have a massage function with heated cushions.
The 2016 Renault Talisman can be had with either a base 4.2 inch central display or a better larger 8.7 inch touchscreen in the higher speced models which is part of the R-Link 2 infotainment system that also gets a Bose surround sound system with 13 speakers. We are already familiar with the Renault Safrane here in Dubai, which frankly wasn’t a good looking car but benefited from Nissan’s reputation and solid reliability.
As for the 2016 Renault Talisman, we are expecting to see it in large quantities here in Dubai, as it will be available with a turbocharged TCe 200 engine matched to a dual-clutch 7 speed gearbox. We wont be getting the diesel engines of which include the dCi 110 and the dCi 130 matched with a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch 7 speed gearbox respectively, for those of you living in Europe – Expect a dCi 160 twin-turbo-diesel engine that gets way more power.
