Honda launched the Civic Type R concept a while ago back in the 2014 Paris Motor Show, and it was nothing short of spectacular. It looks like the hottest hatchback on the market, and is backed by a great sounding 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine hurdling around 305 hp and 295 ft-lbs of torque with better efficiency and speed.
This however, is the race spec-ed version the Civic Type R BTCC Racer which is set to go in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Honda dosen’t shy away from putting in the extra power, which sees the BTCC racer produce aroud 350 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque all sourced from the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The New Civic Type R BTCC Racer also gets better aerodynamics for improved down-force and reduced drag. Although Honda is still testing the waters before final production they are not going to back down from making this BTCC and actual race-car.
As for the initial entry test on March 24 at the UK Donington Park race track where the New Civic Type R BTCC Racer will be take through its paces nothing else is official until April 5th.
