Porsche introduced their updated Cayenne Turbo S at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, with numbers that will make you S**T yourself. If it is that severe, then it must be the world’s fastest SUV and it is. Porsche didn’t waste any time in useless 10hp upgrades and small talk, they want to make a statement and tell Land Rover that their Ranger Rover SVR isn’t all that.
To prove it, Porsche took to the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany and scored a track time of 7:59.74 which completly puts the 8:14 lap time of the Ranger Rover SVR to absolute shame and disgrace, hell that time is as fast as some serious sports cars, we have no doubt that the beast from Germany is indeed the fastest SUV in the world.
Speed is nothing without luxury you may say, and to that I can assure you that the 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has as much luxury as Pablo Escobar’s mansion “sans” the hookers laying around. All jokes aside, the Cayenne Turbo S is capable of comfortably seating five adults and all their equipment all whilst enjoying the finest leather and carbon inserts around.
The 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S benefits from the same twin-turbocharged 4.8 Liter V8 which got a power upgrade from 550 to 570hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, thanks to placing the turbochargers directly onto the exhaust manifolds which reduces spool time and increases responsiveness and acceleration. 0-60mph is done in a very impressive 3.8 seconds which is almost 0.5 seconds faster than the outgoing cayenne turbo s.
Power is aided by a better chassis, bigger carbon ceramic brake discs which measure 16.5 inches at the front and 14.6 inches in the rear with 10 piston calipers upfront and 4 piston calibers at the rear. The rims are borrowed from the new 911 Turbo with a massive 21″ size. Dynamic systems added as standard to the 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S include: PDCC “Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control”, active roll stabilization system, PVT Plus “Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus” to help disribute torque between the left and right side of the car, and PTM “Porsche Traction Management” that controls torque distribution to the front and read.
The new Cayenne Turbo S will set you $158,295 or AED 581,942 Dirhams which makes it quite expensive for an SUV. Transmission will be an eight speed, while the exterior of the new 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S gets LED headlights and gloss black detailing on the air intake surrounds while a sport exhaust system is available.
Expect the 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S to hit U.S sales showrooms in April this year, while it may take up to August for it reach the GCC, United Arab Emirates and Saudi market.
