McLaren love teasing us, day in and day out with their soon to come monster the Mclaren 675LT series which is aerodynamically optimized to be true to the icon.
The videos posted earlier showcase some of the bold features of the new Mclaren 675LT, first with the rims and then with the marvelous exhaust note, all while sitting in the backdrop of some classical music.
What is official for now on the specs sheet – a heavily revised lightweight 3.8 Litre twin turbo V8 with 675PS (666bhp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of toque with new turbochargers, An active ‘Longtail’ Airbrake that helps increase dowforce by 40 percent, Bespoke titanium crossover exhaust for optimized performance (seen in the clip above) and some aggressive dramatic styling.
The Mclaren 675LT is the spirit of the LT ‘Longtail’ McLaren cars that hasn’t been present in nearly two decades, making this moder LT ever more special than ever. McLaren was set on making something that is true to the core, so a simple update wouldn’t be sufficient – Infact they heavily revised their power house and added completly new turbos to significantly increase output and optimise acceleration and traction from a standing start in first gear, rising to the full 700Nm available from 5,500-6,500 rpm.
The Bespoke lightweight circular titanium crossover exhaust system is made from lightweight titanium and makes its way through the exposed bodywork right below the rear ‘longtail’ Airbrake just to make sure there is enough drama to cope with the design language.
More details of the McLaren 675LT, which includes its insane performance figures, will be released with the car’s global debut at the 85th International Geneva Motor Show, on Tuesday 3 March 2015.
