This is the limited edition MSO Carbon Series 675LT Spider, coated in gloss carbon-fiber and will only be produced in a very limited amount. 25 unites to be precise – all of which have been sold to customers who found nothing but good things to say about the all-carbon McLaren P1 that was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show.
It’s called the LT Carbon Series and it has 40 percent more carbon-fiber bodywork than the standard already impressive 675LT Spider which also means the new MSO Carbon Series 675LT Spider is almost completely made out of carbon fiber. To put things into perspective: the A-Pillars, the roof/tonneau cover, rear deck, side blades, bonnet, front/rear wings and fuel filler cap are all parts made out of carbon fiber.
You might be thinking you can just purchase these parts for your standard 675LT Spider and retrofit them but you cant because each of these pars are specially made and developed for the MSO Carbon Series 675LT Spider. No performance upgrades were added so you still get the same 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 powertrain that produces a healthy 666bhp and could expect a 0-62 mph in a blistering 2.9 seconds.
200 km/h (124mph) is achieved in 8.1 seconds – giving away only 0.2 seconds to the more aerodynamically optimised and lighter Coupé. Controlled torque delivery in first gear manages torque to 600Nm (443lb ft) to ensure maximum acceleration, and minimising wheel slip. Top speed is 326 km/h (203 mph). Production of the MSO Carbon Series LT begins this autumn with first deliveries expected before the end of 2016.
