Christian Von Koenigsegg has discussed with CarBuzz the possibility of a future 1.6-liter engine that would put out 400 hp with the Chinese car-maker Qoros hoping they would see such potential for their cars in the future. This would be very possibly by applying the same technology used on the current engines and just downsizing the number of cylinders and displacement to get a much more affordable product.
What’s interesting is that car-maker Qoros has seeked out FreeValve which is a sister company of Koenigsegg to get in on the camless technology. Looking at the current Koenigsegg lineup; you would be impressed by how much power the engines are making with only 8 cylinders and two turbos. The current Agera RS produces 232 bhp per liter from its twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine with a total of 1160Hp and 1280 NM of torque.
