It hasn’t been more than two years since Kia gave the Optima a new facelift and they’ve already done it again for the upcoming model. The Korean manufacturer believes they could take more market share away from the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord with their contemporary styling and sleeker looking vehicle.
The new refreshed Kia Optima receives a new front bumper and rear bumper restyling in addition to a newer front chrome trimmed tiger-nose grille, new tail lights and headlamps.
Kia also worked on upgrading the interior with a fancier steering wheel, newer upholstery options and a satin chrome trim. The car also features a new drive-mode selector with ambient lighting that is switchable via mode select.
If you opt for the GT line models you would receive LED fog lamps, a better interior trim, dual exhaust tips and gloss-black interior trim. The all new Kia Optima introduces a new shade of red that wasn’t offered on older models.
Engine choices start with a 1.6-liter diesel, a 1.6-liter turbo with 177 hp, a 2.0-liter engine and a range topping 242-hp GT performance model with a turbocharger.
We drove the Kia Optima last year and it was pretty decent, we were very impressed with the interior and the overall quality improvement in handling and materials. Perhaps the most interesting aspect was how smooth the ride was on dubai’s streets, the Kia Optima handled the bumps and the uneven road surfaces like a champ.
Both wagon and sedan version will debut during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show next week.
