Do you know what STI stands for? Subaru Tecnica International and they do some of the best cars out there with delightful handling and respectable power. This right here is the WRX S4. Another spin-off from the S207 and we love it!
What makes STI WRX S4 so special? How about improved torque during acceleration by 10 percent thanks to the modified exhaust and air intake parts. Enhanced handling via flexible tow bar, front-rear Active Torque Vectoring, DampMatic II front suspension with adjustable damping and enhanced braking via Brembo opposed-piston 4 pot brakes on the front.
The exterior of the STI WRX S4 is different from the standard car as well with a large under-spoiler on the front, a red painted pinstripe surround on the rear bumper and the front mesh-grille. 19 inch BBS forged aluminum wheels designed by STI and wrapped with Dunlop SportMaxx tires. The interior receives a much-needed upgrade; STI Recaro bucket seats and some luminescent speedometer upgrades.
Sadly though, the STI WRX S4 is available in Japan only and was created to celebrate Subaru’s victories in the SP3T class at the Nurburgring 24-Hours race. There is also an “NBR Challenge Package” available exclusively for the STI WRX S4 – which adds a dry carbon rear spoiler with an STI logo, 19 inch black forged aluminum wheels, an exclusive ultrasuede wrapped steering wheel and a small emblem on the back.
If you’re in Japan, prices start at 4,968,000 Yen ($48,972) for the normal S4, the NBR Challenge Package will run you extra at 5,292,000 Yen ($52,165).
