Jaguar XE SV Project 8

Orange, four doors and an insane acceleration figure (0-60mph in 3.3 seconds) – that’s the new Jaguar XE SV Project 8 that can put all other performance sedans to shame including the monstrous Mercedes AMG E63 S.

Jaguar says the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is the “most powerful, agile, and extreme performance Jaguar road car ever,” developed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations(SVO), it’s limited as well so get your hands on one before they run out.

With optimum performance in mind, the XE SV gets some very interesting design elements that are unique to “Project” dubbed SVO vehicles. Carbon fiber hood and bumpers with  in addition to ceramic brakes and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with carbon-fiber spoke covers make it just as special as the Project 7 F-Type.

Aerodynamics get some spotlight as well with a flat underbody paneling, an adjustable front splitter, an aggressive diffuser and an adjustable rear wing. It’s safe to say this JAG can handle a corner.

Let’s get to the nifty stuff; the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is packaged with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that pumps out 600 PS sent to all four-wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and an active electronic active differential. Jaguar says the XE SV accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds until it tops out at 200 mph (321 Km/h).

Mark Stanton, SVO Director says: “We have really been able to unleash the potential of our engineering and design teams in specifying Project 8. We are at the beginning of a very challenging and exciting development programme which will see us focus on ensuring Project 8 delivers track performance on a level previously not targeted by Jaguar.”

“The SVO team is full of performance car enthusiasts that are now briefed to deliver motorsport science and soul in what is effectively a four-door supercar.”

The interior is nothing short of spectacular. Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, an optional track-pack roll cage to replace the rear seats, gloss carbon fiber trim, and optional carbon-fiber racing seats upfront with the Track Pack.

How many Jaguar XE SV Project 8 units? Only 300 units will be produced and sent to France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Prices start at £149,995 in the U.K and a staggering $197,618 in the U.S.
