The Jaguar F-Type SVR (Special Vehicles Operation) is the same equivalent of the Range Rover SVR which was the first SVR badged Jaguar to hit the market and it was quite the car, with a Nürburgring Nordschleife a lap time of 8:14, which made it the fastest SUV to ever be recorded on the Nürburgring circuit.
This only means that the lighter, original Jaguar F-Type will be more powerful and much faster than the heavier SUV. The car already sounds intense and raw with all pun intended, and the competition are in the form of German dressed senoritas like the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Mercedes-AMG GT both of which produce around 560 hp and 503 hp respectively, and that’s at their best.
The supercharged 5.0 Liter V8 engine in the Jaguar F-Type SVR is more than capabale of those figures and then some as it shares allot of similarities with the V8 found in the 2014 Shelby GT500 which puts out 662 hp, remember that Ford owns Land Rover and Jaguar, so all their V8’s are re-branded Ford engines.
The Jaguar F-type SVR is probably going to get an AWD system and some SVR badging and discreet body-kit extras here and there. To make it compete with the better prepped track handling monsters like the 911 Turbo, the SVR should get better suspension and some better brakes to handle all that extra heat. The ZF gearbox is good enough to handle all that extra power without the need to change anything, we are expecting a great package all together.
No photos of the Jaguar F-type SVR have been leaked or officially released, so stay tuned for more.
