The supercharged Dodge challenger SRT Hellcat already makes insane horsepower and torque, but if you heard some recent rumors that the numbers have gone up a bit due to some sort of special edition – Fret not, because these rumors were true. The Dodge challenger SRT Hellcat X is what everyone was referring too, although there might be a twist to the story. Read on to find out more..
The fact is; it isn’t Chrysler Automobiles [NYSE:FCAU] who were responsible for the power upgrades. Nop, we have the Dream Giveaway team to thank for that, as they were in-charge of hustling the new one-off custom Challenger SRT Hellcat X made specifically to raise money for a charity event via auction.
Now, you might be expecting an ECU tune or some suspension upgrades, thicker tires perhaps? Wrong.. The standard Challenger SRT Hellcat comes with a healthy supercharger, the Dream Giveaway guys gave it an extra Hellion Power Systems turbocharger kit (two turbos behind the engine) Which raises output from 707 horsepower to 805 hp, while torque gets a massive 15o lb/ft from 650 all the way to 800 pound-feet.
The auction will have both a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T and the new Hellcat X paired together. The Hellcat X will have special “Hellcat X” badging of-course to distinguish it from the standard Hellcat. It will also get a new front lip and some extras here and there.
