So we know that there are two Mustangs called the “Ford Mustang Shelby GT350” and the “Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R” being eyed by almost more than half of the entire auto-enthused gear head lot like yourself and me of-course. The thing is, if you’re one of the few who are asking “why, what’s so special about those two?” Chances are you haven’t been acquainted with Americas best muscle car since the FORD GT.

Now, before you start going off about the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 I urge you to look at the price tag difference and the category difference, but then you would start going off about the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and thankfully Motor Trend has put all doubts to rest with a drag race and a track attack both of which the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R came on top. If that wasn’t enough for you just visit this article after you finish reading this one.

Here is a snippet from that article (Hell, to add inslut to injury.. The  7:32.19 lap time is faster than an earlier 05′ Pagani Zonda F (7:33.00), a 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (7:33.00), a 2006 Koenigsegg CCX (7:34.00), a 2010 Audi R8 GT (7:34.00),  and is on par with the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S (7:32.00).

The new Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R comes with Carbon Fiber wheels, a flat-crank 5.2 L naturally aspirated V-8 that fires its cylinders evenly and revs to 8,200 Rpm as opposed to the Cayote 5.0 L engine which fires in a different order causing that unique muscle car rumble we all love. This engine is similar to a Ferrari engine yet sounds different due to some of the challenges Ford faced during manufacturing, but the good news is; it still sounds like a rumbling V-8 although you can tell this one can scream louder.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is bascially the extreme track version of the GT350 both of which come with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The  GT350R gets stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, R-exclusive MagneRide adaptive dampers that improve handling. Rear seat deletes, an A/C delete, Audio system gone, resonators delete (Who needs those little Sh**s anyway) and trunk lining delete which add up to 130 lbs less overall but still managing to maintain equal weight distribution compared to the standard GT350 thanks to Fords smart weight shaving strategy.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is 0.2 inches lower as well making it handle that much better on the track while both versions get amazing Michelin Super-Cup 2 tires. The R gets cross-axis ball-joint connection upfront while tradional bushing-support is used in the back which results in a “zero-compliance” connection between the control arm and the steering knuckle. We’re not sure if both versions get the carbon fiber wheels, but Ford is saying they will give performance tires and wheels to both GT350 versions.

It did the infamous Nürburgring in 7:32.19 .. Enough said.

Now the big question is; when are these two bad boys coming to Dubai? I have visited the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show and Ford had one GT350R sitting there at the Ford stand but no answer to my question. The thing is i’m ready to buy, and chances are you are too. So please Ford, get this thing here as soon as possible!

Will it be priced at $69,995 / Aed 256,900 as Ford announced? Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with some images to drool on.
