Everyone knew that there would be another eighth installment to the franchise as soon as the seventh was out because Vin Diesel who plays one of the lead characters “Dominic Toretto” confirmed so during a press release last April. But now he teases us with yet another picture of the great Fast and Furious movie franchise that says a lot more than you would expect.
The teaser picture he posted on his Instagram confirms that the movie will indeed be called Fast 8, and it will take place in the streets of New York as the original was actually intended to take place there but went to Los Angeles instead during 2001, which was all inspired by Illegal street racing at the time.
The picture also confirms the release date “April 2017”, and will be directed by none other than the great Felix Gary Gray, who’s work includes Straight Outta Compton, the Italian Job and Law Abiding Citizen – hes movies are much edgier and tend to have a humanistic feel to them which tells us there wont be much CG included and realistic stunts are a must.
Stars joining the cast include Jason Statham, Kurt Russel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, Eva Mendes, Lucas Black and a possibility of Cody Walker returning is shredded in mystery but not far fetched since he filled in a lot of scenes for the late Paul walker during the filming of Furious 7.
