Public transportation is a vital part of the citys vibrant travel, it also eased up congestion and freed up transportation methods from their restrictions in the past 5 years.

It was recently announced that the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA) has approved a study to extend the Dubai Metro route to reach Al Warqa’a which is next to Mirdif. Authorities also approved expansion of the Red and Green lines before Expo 2020 which gives them room to work on the expansion by then.

Mattar Al Tayer, Executive Director of RTA & Chairman of the Board stated that upgrading the metro network for the Expo 2020 is one of the highest priorities of the RTA, thus the need to finalise on one of the three proposed routes for the extension of the red line from Jebel Ali to Expo 2020 is crucial.
