Diamler Might Cut EV Research After The EQ Launch

The current EQ family launched by Diamler is setting a new standard for the brand and the company might be cutting down on its annual research and development spending by up to $2.2 billion.

It’s inevitable that the market sees a shift to electric vehicles within 2020 and Diamler is already on the bandwagon. In a recent interview with Bloomberg in Germany; Chief Executive “Dieter Zetsche” stated that the company has reached new height with the creation of the EQ brand.

This also means that by next year Diamler should be cutting down on the R&D spending to around $13.2 billion from the previous budget of $15.4 billion, which is a tad too ambitions but the brand seems to think it’s possible.

Diamler is expecting around 25 percent of its total deliveries to be from electric vehicles, thus they are focusing on securing the companies future by cutting costs and focusing on a tighter budget.

Mercedes-Benz has been rolling out multiple electric vehicles and they recently released a very impressive urban E-truck alongside their electric supercar. The range should include SUV’s, roadsters, sedans and coupes.
