Camaro GT4.R

The new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro is a pretty car indeed, arguably the best looking muscle car on sale today. This right here is the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R, set to compete in this year’s Pirelli World Challenge and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

The competition is tough too, with manufacturers like McLaren, Porsche, AMG, Ford and BMW gunning for the podium finish. But we aren’t too fearful for the American contender; the new gen 2017 Camaro SS with the 1LE package is a proper track car that matched cars like the M4 GTS and the previous generation Z/28 on track. And that’s just the SS with a track package.

The Camaro GT4.R receives the same naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT1 V8 from the SS but with more power – power is then sent to a sequential six-speed paddle-shift transmission via and LSD to the rear wheels only.

The Camaro GT4.R is very similar to the new Camaro ZL1 1LE with all the extra body work, the new canards on the side and the wider wheels. But it wouldn’t be a track car without plastic windows, race-spec wheels and a huge spoiler at the back. Chevrolet says you can get acquainted with the GT4.R at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg inside Blackdog’s Speed Shop.
