BMW 8-Series Concept

The new Bmw 8-Series Concept has seen massive appeal from fans and gearheads alike, it’s almost impossible to have not heard of the new 8-Series concept, best part is it’s coming in 2018!

A two door coupe that is a “luxurious sports car which embodies both unadulterated dynamics and modern luxury.” Previewed ahead of its official debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The concept is refreshing in every sort of possible way, extremely aggressive yet refined lines portray a very athletic and stylish body with a large twin-kidney grille incase you forgot it’s a BMW. Slim headlights and a large intake in addition to a carbon fiber splitter upfront, while the backend favors a much bulkier design. It’s the perfect Bemer.

I can’t help but recall the 3.0 CSL hommage concept when i look at the BMW 8-Series, it’s got supercar proportions and we honestly think it’s better than the BMW i8, it’s probably going to be much faster too.

The massive muscular wheel arches house 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels, the interior is a look into the future of BMW’s cabin design language, ditching plenty of the boring cabin styling cues of past BMW cars. Which has been their biggest hurdle so far, in addition to stale design.

It’s got exclusive sports seats with a carbon-fiber shell, an elegant yet sporty steering wheel, hand-polished aluminum spokes and red anodized shift paddles. It’s really one of the best steering-wheels i’ve ever seen.

The minimalistic design is a step in the right direction for BMW, and we hope it carries on to the rest of the range. Moving on to the digital instrument cluster which integrated plenty of onboard technologies, sort of like Mercedes’s digital cluster.

So what powers the 8-Series? No clue, BMW hasn’t uttered a word about the engine but we’re guessing it’s some sort of twin-turbocharged V8 with an additional V12 Biturbo for the high-spec models.

BMW Chairman Harald Krüger is going all in with 8-Series, he says “The forthcoming BMW 8-Series Coupe will demonstrate that razor-sharp dynamics and modern luxury can go hand-in-hand. This will be the next model in the expansion of our luxury-car offering and will raise the benchmark for coupes in the segment. In the process, we will strengthen our claim to leadership in the luxury class.”
