Audi Q8 Ultra Luxurious SUV Headed For Detroit Motor Show

Audi Q8 Ultra Luxurious SUV

The Audi Q8 concept is headed for the Detroit motor show this January according to Audi, as they plan on unveiling their ultimate luxury SUV to fend off any doubters.

You know plenty of journalists are saying the Bentley Bentayga is nothing but a rebadged Audi Q7; I think with the Audi Q8 coming soon, it’ll be a set in stone that the two are identical and i’m referring to the new Q8.

To help you better understand, look at the current Audi R8 and compare it to the Lamborghini Huracan. Done? Visually, they couldn’t be any more different – but when you take a closer look at the underpinnings, the engine and the specs. You’ll realize they’re almost the same.

This is to be expected though since the ‘Volkswagen Group’ owns Porsche, Audi, Bentley and Lamborghini amongst others; many similarities will be found to cut cost and use a proven formula that is guaranteed to work.

So, in terms of expectations – all we see is a window of opportunity for the Audi Q8 to wear the Bentley Bentayga suit and receive several detunes that would make it more affordable. In terms of competition, the BMW X6 M and the Mercedes-AMG GLE won’t stand a chance against a rebadged Bentayga in top spec.

The concept sketches remind us of Audi’s Quattro heritage and hint at a sportier profile with pronounced wheel arches. Taking a closer look, we noticed that there are intake ducts under the headlights which raised a lot of questions regarding the power output of the new Q8 and if this is possibly an RS version. Then there is the e-tron logo which basically means it might be an electric or a hybrid? we doubt.

A few sketches got us all riled up now, we’de have to wait for the official release at the Detroit motor show next month to get the full scoop.
