Although Toyota hasn’t produced a real sportscar since the last Supra rolled off the production line, the 2018 Toyota Camry is quite the sporty looking car with one vision in mind – to produce exciting vehicles to shed the boring image that has been associated with Japanese brand for so long.
Revealed not too long ago at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, the midsize sedan took the economy market by storm with styling the was unique, beautiful and exciting. The 2018 Toyota Camry now sits lower to the ground with a sleeker profile but offers the same luxuries and space you would expect from a Camry.
Now, you’re not looking to buy one because their fast. It’s all about reliability and economy, but with a package like this – who would purchase the Honda Accord or the Nissan Altima?
On the inside, the Camry introduces a great cabin designed to make you question the badge and leans more towards something that Lexus would produce. You get a 10-inch head-up display, an eight-inch center touchscreen and a seven-inch instrument display.
The new Camry receives a better new global architecture that benefits from new molding technologies with better structural rigidity and high-strength steel without any added weight. This means that it can handle better and is much safer than before, it also gets plenty of safety equipment like; pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning, lane departure correction and warning, ten airbags and automatic high-beam assist.
The 2018 Toyota Camry in its eighth generation receives three engine choices ranging from a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine, a 3.5-liter V6 (both offered with an eight-speed automatic) and a hybrid powertrain that is mated to a 2.5-liter and a CVT transmission.
Trim levels range from four options: LE, XLE, SE and XSE with the top specced trims offering a sportier appearance. Prices in the UAE have yet to be announced, but as history dictates – it will be the same pricing throughout the entire range.
