2018 Ford Mustang GT Exhaust Sound

The new 2018 Ford Mustang GT might have rubbed fans in a wrong way with the restyling, but the exhaust note seems to make up for lost love. There’s no denying that the signature American muscle sound remains intact and even better than before.

With the optional quad tailpipe outlets that include an active valve performance exhaust allowing you to modulate the decibels through one click of a button in the center console – driving can become convenient without any of the drone nuisance that accompany a loud exhaust.

Another noteworthy thing to notice would be the throatier exhaust note on the 2018 Ford Mustang GT compared to the previous model; it seems Ford might have adjusted the piping a little bit.

During idle, the exhaust remains in closed valve mode and automatically opens up the valves when you rev the engine. With fans raging on social media about the restyling, Ford hasn’t even mentioned what sort of power upgrade we can expect. I’m not all too optimistic and i’m sure it will be an addition of just 20-hp or 25-hp and 15 to 20 lb-ft of torque and no more than that.
