The new 2017 Porsche 911 GTS finally gets the 991.2 facelift and the new twin-turbo V6 engine to make things a little bit more exciting at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show this week.
What sort of engine? The 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 makes an exit in favor of the boosted twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight six engine that produces 450-hp and 550 NM of torque, which is 20-hp more than the previous GTS.
The 2017 Porsche 911 GTS comes in many guises that include the Carrera GTS, the Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera GTS Cabriolet/Targa and the Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet/Targa. The fastest being the 4 GTS coupe with an astonishing 0-62 mph time of just 3.6 seconds if you opt for the PDK transmission.
The interior of the 2017 Porsche 911 GTS gets the Porsche Sport Chrono package as standard and Alcantara components that add a luxurious feel to the cabin.
The facelifted GTS is also much more economical with an 8.3-liter/100 km of fuel consumption ratio. The facelift includes an updated front and rear fascia with distinctive visual elements like the new SportDesign front splitter, updated headlights and taillights in addition to 20-inch center locking wheels and black tailpipes.
Pricing starts at $131,057 (124,451€) for the standard GTS, and tops out at $152,612 (144,919€) for the Carrera 4 GTS Targa and the 4 GTS Cabriolet models.
