Yet another offering has made its way before the official debut in Frankfurt. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is beautiful in its sedan form but now we get a cabriolet version that is said to hit 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds in AMG disguise which is just as quick as the coupe model.
It’s pretty much identical to the fix-roof coupe being that it used a lot of aluminum but the cabriolet does include an aluminum rear floor to save more weight. Fancy has always been synonymous with the S-class range, and buyer will get the option of choosing to emblazon Swarovski crystals onto the turn signals and the daytime-running lights, while a black diamond radiator grille, full LED lights and chrome accents come as standard.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Drop Top comes in many colors to dash people away with; Beige, Black, Dark Blue and Dark Red. It takes under 20 seconds to open or close the top which can be operated at speeds of up to 37 mph which folds completely into the luggage compartment when closed. Drivers will be delighted to hear that the new automatic climate control system tales care of the temperature change automatically once the top has been closed or opened to adjust to the driving situation.
What else you may ask? The 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible includes the Airmatic suspension, Airscarf neck-heating system (wont be needing that in Dubai), Nappa leather upholstery, Burmester surround sound system, Active Park Assist and the COMAND infotainment system. The S-Class convertible model gets a unique fragrance called the “Pacific Mood” which will only be available to the convertible models and adds a unique refreshing smell.
Let’s talk power, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible S550 comes with a twin-turbo 4.7-liter V-8 that puts out 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque equipped with a nine-speed automatic being able to hit 100 km/h or 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Then comes the insane 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG S63 4Matic Convertible that brings about the 4.4 liter V-8 putting out 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque – able to sprint to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and comes with the AMG Seven-speed transmission.
