The wait is over, the 2017 Ford GT has been revealed at the NAIAS 2015, and boy does it look good. Allot of sources are saying that the Ford GT does indeed look like the LaFerrari, but we don’t care as it brings allot of flare to the Ford GT, which gives it absolute Exotic status.
During Ford’s 2015 Detroit Auto Show press conference, Mark Fields the CEO of Ford took to the stage as he revealed the much awaited for Vivid Blue 2017 Ford GT, looking all royal and exotic just like its predecessor. The monstrous Ford GT will be powered by the most powerful Eco Boost engine Ford has ever produced, putting out north of 600hp thanks to the next generation twin turbo EcoBoost configuration.
Power will be delivered to the rear wheels via a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission that Ford says will deliver “near-instantaneous” gear changes through the mid engined supercar. The 2017 Ford GT is also super light, thanks to its lightweight carbon fiber construction, and the carbon fiber passenger cell coupled with Aluminum front and rear subframes that are encapsulated in the structural carbon fiber body panels.
The 2017 Ford GT features a Formula 1 type of chassis that is suspended by an active racing-style torison bar and pushrod suspension which also enables the driver to adjust the GT’s ride height. One thing is for sure, the stance of the all new Ford GT is killer, Ferrari killer alright (Que in the cheesy lights.)
