Audi had a very successful year lately with their all new 2017 Audi R8 and the numerous 2017 models they have released earlier to complete their upcoming line-up. Now they drop this; the 2017 Audi TT RS and it’s going to get a 5 cylinder engine that radiates 400 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque all of which is available between 1,700 and 5,850 RPM.
This means that the all-wheel drive 2017 Audi TT RS can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds in coupe guise and 3.9 seconds in roadster form.
So we get 40 more hp and a seven speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox? Yup – no manual transmission this time, and I don’t think many would mind as this car mostly targets performance enthusiasts who are looking for quick numbers and brisk acceleration only achievable via the brands dual clutch.
Don’t be shocked if none of the new Audi models get a manual transmission because this seems to be the norm lately, with turbocharges taking over displacement and DSG gearboxes achieving remarkable shift times.
