The 2016 Jaguar F-Type coupe and roadster models will receive an all too important update “4-wheel drive” to improve its handling performance on and off track.
This new development was a planned partnership between Jaguar and Bloodhound SSC in which Bloodhound shares its technical assistance to further improve on the supercharged V8 fitted on the F-Type R Coupe. While Bloodhound is responsible for 1000 mph machines that look like Eurofighter Typhoon fitted with a bespoke rocket motor to deliver around 135,000bhp.
The 2016 Jaguar F-Type 4-wheel drive is meant to address rivals like the 011 Turbo and the Audi R8 which both offer 4wd capabilities that make them accelerate and handle better, unlike jaguars raw twitchy back side, which is fun but sacrifices performance.
The good news is, all Jaguar models will receive the 4wd treatment, and is not limited to the R models only. Making it a much more needed addition for the F-Type aficionados. This information is confirmed by Jaguar, and they already said that the LA auto show will see the F-Type range expand from six to 14 models with 8 more new models.. Yes, this means Jaguar will announce other models besides the 4WD models.
