The 2016 Audi A8 is a handsome sedan no doubt about it, but it does certainly stray away from aggressive styling as it should since it’s after the executive market with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-class and the BMW 7 Series, a segment dominated by the new Mercedes-Benz S-class thanks to the perfect balance of luxury, presence, size and power.
That’s about to change though, the 2016 Audi A8 gets a proper styling tweak that simply changes the entire front/rear fascia making it much less boxier and prettier to look at. But why the power upgrade for the 2016 Audi A8 4.0T model you may ask? Audi thought it would only be befitting to have a model to fit right between the gap that the Audi S8 creates with its immense speed and power.
The power is delivered from the 4.0T twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine packing 450 hp (15 more than before) all routed through an 8-speed automatic transmission and quattro (Audi slang for All Wheel Drive) is standard. I did mention the previous Audi A8 was not that aggressive, and Audi decided to take on a slightly more aggressive stance with revised rocker panels, rear and front bumpers while the car sits on 20 inch wheels & optional 21 inch alloys packaged with some performance rubber which Audi hasn’t mentioned yet.
Prices start at $91,425 for the new 2016 Audi A8 4.0T while the S8 Plus is yet to be confirmed, although word has it that the S8 would pack up to 650hp on deck.
