This is it, the 2015 Porsche Cayenne and its sportier equivalent the Cayenne GTS were unveiled ahead of their official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show to spoil the Porsche brats with yet another GTS goodie, including the amazing 2015 Porsche Boxster GTS and 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS .
Porsche described their 2015 Cayenne GTS as a special “sport model”, thanks to the simple trendy GTS additions like the revised side skirts, the extended wheel arches, tinted head-tail lights, 20-24 reduction in ride height coupled with 20 inch alloy wheels. And well, it wouldn’t be a proper GTS if it wasn’t for that sports exhaust system that lets loose the german stuttgart horses, and some stopping power via high performance porsche brakes, and the infamous Porsche Active Suspension Management System also known as the PASM. The exterior now looks much more aggressive with all these great fitments and body color painted panels with a subtle facelift that isn’t crying for attention.
On the Inside though, Porsche fitted the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS with an eight way power adjustable leather and Alcantara sport seats that have the “GTS” lettering embroidered on the head rests. Other than that and some Alcantara treatments here and there, nothing else has changed for the 2015 Porsche Cayenne models.
Big news here is the replacement of the previous naturally aspirated 4.8 Liter V8 unit with a twin-turbo 3.6 liter V6 engine that can put out an impressive 440hp(323 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, which is an overall increase of 20hp and 85 Nm (62 lb-ft). While it may not sound as good as the V8 (we don’t know yet) it does a 0-100km/h sprint in 5.2 and 5.1 seconds with the optional sports chrono package with a top speed of 162 mph or 262 km/h.
As for the standard entry level 2015 Porsche Cayenne, it got the 3.6 liter V6 engine that puts out 300hp that is delivered through an eight speed tiptronic S transmission ( apparently new) helping the big SUV to accelerat from 0-100 km/h in 7.7. Porsche decided to add the engine start/stop function to save up some much needed fuel and reduce CO2 emissions by 0.7l/100 km and 21 g/km.
Bothe the 2015 Porsche Cayenne and 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS will go on sale this February of 2015 for about €65,427 for the Cayenne and €98,152 for the Cayenne GTS. Expected to be 250,000 Aed for the entry Cayenne and 400,000 Aed for the Cayenne GTS.
