You are probably familiar with the standard Nissan Patrol SUV if you happen to live in the GCC and some other countries, but might not be too familiar with it if you happen to live in the U.S – The American market receives the Infiniti QX80 as a replacement to the Nissan Patrol but does it really do the consumers any justice? Or are they missing out on a great off-roading machine.
The new 2015 Nissan Patrol NISMO is exactly what it advertises – a performance oriented NISMO version of the standard Nissan Patrol SUV that was unveiled at the recent event in Dubai which introduced the NISMO lineup for the Middle East and is expected to be on sale pretty soon all over the Middle East and GCC countries where NISMO is part of the Nissan dealership offering.
But what can we expect from such an aggressive Patrol? The 2015 Nissan Patrol NISMO is powered by the same 5.6 Liter-V-8 engine which now pumps out 428 hp and delivers 70 % of maximum torque throughout most of the rev range making it a much more usable off-roader. The engine was tuned by the same guys who worked on the GT-R powerplant namely the “Takumi” specialists in Nissan.
But that isn’t all, the new 2015 Nissan Patrol NISMO is also tougher – with extra reinforcements to improve overall rigidity and a better body kit of aerodynamic efficiency was added. Also you will be glad to know that NISMO worked on the electronic power steering making it more responsive and accurate while suspension received Bilstein shocks and a 22-inch forged wheels add that final NISMO touch to the Patrol.
