Mitsubishi seized production of the infamous Lancer Evolution and decided to create 1,600 versions of the final piece. The 2015 Mitsubishi Evolution Final Edition has just sold for a staggering $76,400, which is more than double of what the standard Evo X fetches with an MSRP of $37,995. But this is no regular Evo X, this is build number 1,600 of 1,600 from the final edition models.
Yes, there were a total of 1,600 2015 Mitsubishi Evolution Final Edition models which were sold in the U.S. They offered more power than their JDM versions, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine now producing 303-hp and 305-lf-ft of torque; just 12-hp and 5 lb-ft more.
It might sound ludicrous to shed $76,400 for what’s basically another Evo X with a plate that says it’s a final edition, worse seats than you would get in the Evo X and some Final Edition badges. But that’s not why they are being sold, it’s all about resale value and these one off editions fetch a lot of money later down the road.
The 2015 Mitsubishi Evolution Final Edition was offered in four different colors; Gray, Blue, Red and White. The final 1,600 Evo was painted in White while the first 0001 of 1,6000 was painted in Red and is placed at a Brooklyn dealer for $88,888 and is still up for sale. You do get Bilstein dampers, Eibach Springs, two-piece Brembo brake rotors upfront, chrome front grille surround, dark chrome finished alloy rims, black-painted aluminum roof, red-stitching and a blacked out center bumper.
