Ladies and Gentlemen, what we have here in front of us is arguably the best car Chevrolet ever built, so read on if you want to learn more about this monster, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 .
Developed and created as a joint project between Corvette Racing, came the all-aluminum V8 7.0 Litre LS7 engine which produces 505 horsepower and 481 lb.-ft. of torque and features a dry sump oiling system, High-lift cam and titanium valves. The induction system has a K&N air filter, Z/28 special intake and exhaust manifolds which are part of the Z/28 package.
The monstrous V8 7.0 Litre LS7 transfers power to the rear wheels by way of a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission that benefits of a limited slip differential. Add to that two sets of Brembo cabon-ceramic brakes and track tuned suspension that turns the Camaro Z/28 into a brutal cornering machine.
Not your average everyday Camaro
The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a track-ready machine equipped with a full body kit that has a front splitter coupled with an underbody panel that helps reduce drag, bigger fender flares, huge black spoiler, side skirts, and a functional air diffuser that is integrated to the rear bumper.
Chevrolet worked on reducing weight by using high-density foam, light Recaro bucket seats with manual adjustment instead of automatic with a heavy motor, and lightened materials around the dashboard. Which brings me to the interior that makes the Camaro fall short, with the same interior being used since 2006 with the addition of some alcantara and Recaro seats killing any sort of excitement on the inside.
To further help increase handling abilities, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has light 19-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero Trofeo while reducing unsprung weight and gripping like a silverback Gorilla about to fall from a tree. The instrument cluster is the same unchanged four analog gauges and a TFT screen in the middle.
What makes the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 different than the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is that is is 300 pounds 136 kg – lighter than the ZL1 thanks to using weight saving modifications and a thinner rear window with a smaller LN3 Battery. Other things done to reduce weight was the removal of HID headlights and fog lights, while the Air/Conditioner is optional although we doubt anyone would remove it over here in the UAE.
Well, there has to be something bad though.. The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is in fact slower than the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 because it focuses more on handling, rather than brute speed and it is very good at it.
