Everybody knows that the 2010 BMW X5 M was the first SUV to put out some serious performance for a heavyweight Sport Utility vehicle that could still do the family chores in absolute ease. Add to that mix its coupe brethren the BMW M6 M with better performance and economy.
The big news is both the 2015 BMW X5 – X6 M will have the same performance figures and modifications paired with the 4.4 Litre V8 Direct injection engine that puts out 567 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque all delivered through an 8 speed M steptronic transmission to replace the old 6 speed transmission which results in quicker shifts and increased fuel economy.
The 2015 BMW X5 – X6 M will have a great exhaust note, thanks to BMW’s revised exhaust that promotes a sporter richer (throatier) rumble that is stronger than the outgoing models, which makes it easier to recognize that this particular BMW is an M indeed while sound can be changed depending on selected mode.
The other important bit of info is that both the 2015 BMW X5 and X6 M models can clock in 0-100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds flat while top speed is limited to 250 km/h, pairing it with BMW M3 sedan and many other formidable sports cars which are much more qualified. Suspension received upgrades to make it firmer and better to enhance cornering stability and agility, giving the driver more confidence. The revised exterior received M treatment as well, in the form of four large air intakes and flaps upfront that function to help improve dynamics and cool the engine.
To help differentiate the standard models from the 2015 BMW X5 – X6 M, the exterior will all be colored in one color and the all too familiar M four-tailpipe exhaust system alongside a neat simple rear spoiler and 21 inch M alloy wheels that are wrapped in one of the best street tires on the market “The Michelin Pilot Super Sport” and the usual M stuff all around. Yes, the interior of the new 2015 BMW X5 – X6 M will be loaded with Alcantara, aluminum trim accents, M badges everywhere, leather and many more luxuries to please your eyes.
What do you think? is it as good as the new 2015 Range Rover SVR
