Now that all of the Auto manufacturers are interested in increasing their fuel economy figures, they also started completely redesigning their models sooner than expected. And the reason is quite clear, competition has never been tougher. The 2014 Mazda 6 is the 3rd generation of the 6 line-up and it does not disappoint. Thanks to Mazda’s innovative world class diesel technology “Skyactiv-D” this provides ultimate performance and economy figures expected to reach 26/38 mpg. There is no denying that the new 2014 Mazda 6 is a good looking car, probably the best of the 3 Mazda 6 cars.

The 2014 Mazda 6 sports a brand new interior as well, which is nice but not so much that would wow you from 10 years ago. Just a small comparison between the 2004 Mazda 6 and the brand new one says they haven’t bothered that much in re-inventing the interior. But they did no downsize on material quality, every bit of the dash panel, and the door plastics is nice and soft. The road noise is a little too disappointing, since Mazda decided to work on reducing curb weight, they economized in the sound deadening department.

If you started wondering about the engine equipped in the 2014 Mazda 6 by now, it will be fitted to a 2.5 liter four cylinder gasoline engine which is good for 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. These figures are not impressive by any measures, but they provide a good power to weight ratio that will be good for weaving through traffic. As for transmission, the car will be getting an all new six speed manual | Automatic (base trims). Another 2.2 Liter turbo diesel that is supposed to replace the V-6 should be a really good replacement of the six banger, since Mazda promised an outperforming engine. Perhaps the greatest thing about the 2.5 liter engine is how smooth the power delivery is, quite seamless at idle speed, and almost un-interrupted fast shifts that keeps the driver at ease.
