The all-new 2014 Audi S7 is Audi’s next best thing after the Audi S8, it is a clear cut luxury sedan with a milking S7 badge to brag about in town. Now you would expect it to have some fancy toys in its arsenal; like a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 that puts out 420 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque, a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.9 seconds and a 12.3 seconds surge quarter mile all by means of all wheel drive, which means that whoever has an RS5, Camaro SS, or a Mustang GT should not even dare to challenge the S7.
The 2014 Audi S7 runs with the big boys as well, the likes of Mercedes Benz CLS550, the CLS63 AMG, and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe thanks to its properly tuned All wheel drive system which makes amazing “G” numbers on the skid pad and offers much better launches then its rear wheel drive rivals.
The 2014 Audi S7 is not the best looker out there, but it does feature a unique look that is different from many cars in its class, it has a wonderful roof line which gives it an exotic like feel. So we have established that it can run with cars above its class, and is a tad short of the Corvette ZR1 quarter mile and can take on most of the premium luxury sedans in the market. Thanks to the S7’s twin turbo V8 it gives you a very broad power band, from as low as 2000 RPM’s via its Quattro all-wheel drive.
Although the 2014 Audi S7 does not conform to the uniformed looks department, and steers smoothly but rather sensitively it does have a stunning new interior, with all options on hand. Available to the driver are the S7 badge on the steering wheel as a good faith reminder, all kinds of gadgets and buttons like the sport and dynamic mode which improve the throttle response, and the Audi pop up infotainment screen. The seats are really comfortable and stylish. Especially the rear seats which are beautifully stitched and are spacious enough for two people, the instrument cluster provides crisp information and a very stylish H layout.
I personally like the S7, because of its blistering fast engine and the unique look it brings. I found the exterior styling to be a bit too dull for an S7 although the rear side looks overly scaled and a bit clunky, it somehow manages to look really sexy in a side view.
So, if you prefer a luxury sedan that is really fast and don’t have enough money to buy an Audi S8 or prefer a Mercedes; then go for the Mercedes s550.
